Just over 10 weeks ago I was very lazy and the only exercise I did was walking my daughter back from nursery, very slowly.
Now, I have just managed to run 5km in 31 minutes (my first mini goal is to do it in 30 mins), I've lost over 2kg (just over 5lbs? I don't do pounds anymore...), I've lost 7cm (about 2.5 inches) from my waist and my resting heart rate has gone from 85 bpm (not good) to 65 bpm (not bad).
Admittedly I have also started eating less because I've got braces on my teeth now, so that could account for the weight loss, but still, the numbers are enough to keep me going!
I also sleep better and I have way more energy (my daughter has learnt to ride a bike without stabilisers and I can run along with her).
If you're at the beginning of this journey and you feel like you can't do it - you can! And when you see little changes in your body or your mind, it'll hopefully spur you on.
I'm still on a post run high - I'm sorry

Thanks for the upbeat post as I just had a really hard w4r3 and 5K seems a long way away! I didn't do this to lose weight just get fit so I can keep up with my 2.y.o twins however I have actually put on weight as I seem to be hungry all the time and snacking? Weird? What did you use to get your heart rates, I would be interested to do that? Well done for graduating and for encouraging the rest of us on. Thank you.
I didn't intend to lose weight either, but I definitely wanted to change my body shape (I was turning into an apple!). I think it might be more to do with my lack of snacking because I have to take my braces out and brush them if I snack, and I can't be bothered!
I just measured my heart rate myself (I took my pulse for 30 seconds and doubled it - once when I started the programme and again just now - prob not very scientific!). I'd be interested to see what my blood pressure is, that was always borderline high...
Once you graduate it's hard to find motivation I have to say. I'm setting myself little goals now. Once you've done the wk5r3 you'll feel invincible Keep at it - your twins will love having a fitter you
Similar thoughts here. Prior to January I did no formal exercise. Last year I didn't like the fact I was lacking stamina and getting out breath quickly while running alongside my son as he learned to ride his bike and now, after doing this programme, I found it a cinch to run alongside him as he 'relearned' how to go without stabilisers last week.
I've also lost weight and found muscles I like! And today I ran 5k in 35 minutes exactly, shaving 30 seconds off since last time. I would like to run 5k in 30 minutes too but I'm a little slower than you at moment!
Every time I don't feel like going out I remind myself of the benefits!
I think improving your health so you can keep up with your children should be motivation enough. Slimming down and reducing your blood pressure, and feeling fitter and more energised are all positives.
Well done Becktoria. Great run! If you keep going you will get to your 30 minute target. Good luck
Congratulations Becktoria - that's really good! I'm trying to lose weight at the same time as getting healthier. I've lost 3.6kg since I started the program but the biggest change I have seen is the shape of my body and that is making me happier than the weight loss Hoping to graduate in the next couple of weeks
Yep Ladyp, I've noticed that too! My muffin top is smaller and my arms are more toned
It's a win win situation for us all - yay !
Why on earth are you saying sorry for being on a runner's high? It's a very positive post and very encouraging to newcomers. You've achieved a lot and deserve to feel pleased. Well done and best wishes.
Thanks for the inspiration Becktoria. I've only done week 1 so far but have started this for very similar reasons I have a very active 2year old and a six month old and I'm struggling to keep up with them.
Any weight loss would also be a very welcome bonus!
