Well done AngelAmy. I did my second run this morning and found it slightly (only just) easier than the first. It didn't help that my app stopped working halfway through and I had to count the seconds! I'm doing it more as a depression and stress reliever but whatever the initial reason, people say this program has multiple benefits. I'm finding that the warm down exercises are really great too. Keep going and good luck :)

If you complete C25K, graduate and carry on running then the weight will start to come off markedly. You have to combine the running with healthy eating though. My guess is that you will want to eat healthily as you will enjoy running. It's a bit addictive!

Well done for getting started, that's the hardest part. I agree with misswobble, the weight will come off if you stick with it and eat healthily. You don't have to deny yourself everything. There are so many positive benefits and lots of support on here. Enjoy x

You've already done the hardest part of C25K - actually starting! That without doubt is the hardest part of the program. Now that you HAVE started, keep it slow and steady. The weight will come off eventually but the first thing you'll notice is that you'll lose inches (around your waist) first. Try using My Fitness Pal in conjunction with running too. I wanted to lose some excess poundage this year and on January 1st I started logging what I ate on My Fitness Pal. That, combined with running three times per week made me lose a stone and a half in 4 months. So it really does work! But again, well done for starting this incredible life changing program.

Yea for you! Welcome to the club, you've come to the right place for encouragement and support. I'm about half way done, and use this forum as a lifeline to realize I'm not alone and to get support along the way. We're all in this together. Good luck for your next run.

I've just done my second run today. Felt really proud of myself after first run! I too have a lot of weight to lose but have no will power unfortunately! Keep it going!!!

Well done getting started, as Danzargo says, it's the hardest part. Combined with healthy eating you will see some weight starting to come off, especially when you get to some of the longer runs. You might like to try something like Pilates on your non-running days as this really does tone the body and seems to go well with the running programme. Good luck with your runs and best wishes.

Well done! Hardest part over. As Danzargo says, don't focus too much on weight too much at the start - but do take some vital measurements (waist, hips, thighs). Muscle weighs more than fat, so initially there is not too much weight loss, but you will definitely notice a change in body shape (I've dropped from a size 20 to a 14/12 in a year and went from 20 to 18 to 16 without too much change in my weight). I'm pretty useless at following long term diets plans, but I started fasting 2 days a week about 6 months after I started C25K and I haven't looked back. Good luck! Keep posting! You will feel so much better so quickly, you will find it hard to believe.

Healthy eating is something I am not good at. I've gone from 9 stone to 12st 10 in 4 years. Dreadful I know, but I guess I'm just lazy.

I did 1 run and gave up. Well done to you on getting motivated, I certainly applause you. x

Well done AngelAmy, I did my second run of week 1 today and it was a little harder (legs were stiff) but just as rewarding. You've done the most important and hardest part which is leaving the front door to do it. Good luck!
