Is there a programme that helps build speed. I have completed the c25k and im a slow jogger, Im running my first 5k in May with friends some are much faster than I. I don't want to lag so drastically far behind. I was thinking there must be something like with the c25k that mixes fast running in with jogging??

Well done for finishing the programme :)

Try the Speed podcast. Also have a go at Stamina and Stepping Stones because they will also help your endurance. Some people have used the c25k podcasts and done jogging/running a bit faster rather than walking/jogging in the sessions.

Have a go and let us know how you get on :)

If you look for C25K + there are 3 different routines, Speed, Stamina & Stepping stones all are designed to help with speed and stamina which will also help towards increasing your distance with a view to reaching 10K. Well done on completing C25K too. :)

Well done on completing the programme. Don't forget to apply for your graduate badge. Good luck with the next stage in your running journey. Best wishes.

Try audiofuel. Also look at 3 different training sessions a week. 1 day do a 5k. 1 day you want to be running slowly for longer distances. Try to get up to 40 mins to and hour. 1 day you want to be doing interval training. Audiofuel have some good pyramid interval sessions. They are hard though. You can alternate this with hill training to really burst you lungs and dramatically improve your cardiovascular fitness.
