5x50 challenge 2014
There is a pinned post on the right. I guess everybody will start posting as they start logging their days.
I ran 5k this morning in edinburgh with lovely group of ladies organised by Fiver called Vicky She was really nice and runned with me as I was last - nothing new there but hey someone's got to take that spot! It was first time that I have run and talked so struggled a bit as it was straight up hill BUT phone app registered it as fastest 5k and mile so well pleased Maybe should mention that I forgot to switch on phone till 1/2 way up so most of recorded run was down hill so probably not true time but I' m taking it anyway What did you do luvleeju
Was out there in Edinburgh too. Great little group of folk from someone about to do a marathon to someone who walked it.
Lots of other runners out there. Amazing how few folk say hello.
I still haven't mastered the dreaded first km up to Dunsappie Loch - 100m climb in 1km - and walked a bit But once up there I felt good and ran the rest comfortably.
Now trying to think about what I will do for my "rest" day tomorrow.
Oh I really admire you both. All I did was a simple run less than 5k as I'm so slow but still did the 30 mins plus required.
I graduated in December was ill in January so missed a few weeks couldn't believe how it effected my fitness but I'm back and building up slowly .
Never been brave enough to do a park run or any other event but determined to do so one day.
I have family who are accomplished runners who encouraged me in the first place but I don't seem to be able to cross the barrier of running in public I always go alone. My Nephew is really frustrated with my lack of confidence but I have to do this in my own time .
Tomorrow I'm swimming and back to running day after . Good luck everyone .
Would recommend Parkrun. They are friendly events and a good follow on for C25k. There's always some folk walking part of the way. Don't know where you are but if you look at the Parkrun results on this site, you'll see there are now C25kers doing Parkruns in about 50 locations.
I think a lot of people are posting there runs on the C25kers Facebook page.
I did my day 1 as a 5k run, sadly on my own as all the arranged events seem to be miles away, Today as my 'rest' day I will do my 5k as walking tomorrow will be back to running
Good luck to you all 5x50 ers : )
