Hi Rfc, not sure how or where to log my longest run so I'll just tell you it was 5.6k. Pleased to say that I managed to run 3x5k every week except when I was on a Norwegian cruise for a week. Hope everyone else enjoyed the challenge too.
Well my longest run was 3km. 200m less than last quest but in my defence I have had an operation In between so I am not going to beat myself up. Triathlon training has now started so on the next quest all the goals will change a little. Also I have signed up for 5x50, I am hoping that that will fit I perfectly with my new training schedule.
My longest run was 6K. As this was my goal I am very pleased to achieve it. I don't think I would have done it without the incentive of this challenge so thanks Rfc.
Mine was 10.3km which was the end goal for jantastic, I'm also taking part in 5x50 so will hopefully keep running regularly for that. Best wishes everyone and thanks for all your work rfc, can't wait to see our latest map.
My goal was 3x5K and 7k (towards my middle of year goal of 10k)
This afternoon I did my '7k': 8k along the Cromford Canal - longest run ever. Not only that but fastest ever time for 5K of 45m23s, and I achieved an average sub 9min/km. A smidge of dog assist from the belt (but equally there was a pause for other dog related things, and the tow path was fairly busy - I thought I'd better get out there before the weekend when it is like a motorway) Green woodpecker and little grebe seen, lots of bird song. It rained but I was quite hot by that point so it was pleasant and the worst held off until I was in the car.
Then a dash to school where by some miracle there was a parking space after 3pm. I indicated to my offspring that it was Mother's Day on Sunday and I do like the Co-op's Lemon Truffles... so we'll see.
The quest has really helped a lot - I've not been able to get out for a run very often and not been feeling well but when I have got out, I've made it count.
Delighted to say completed all runs during this quest. Did my longest run of 7 miles this week For some strange reason the bupa 10 k training plan I am following asks you to run in miles ! So all good on running front but still struggling with eating too much / rubbish Hope every one has nice time on sun with either your mums or thoughts of your mum
My longest run was 3.55k (that last .05k is very important!). I'm quite chuffed as I couldn't run for the first 2 weeks of this challenge and my goal had been to be running a comfortable 4k in preparation for stepping up to 5k next time. I feel I could do the 4k now but I'm determined to only increase my distance in small amounts so that I don't tempt injury. Looking forward to hitting 4k next week and then working towards that, as yet elusive, 5. Thanks for all your encouragement Rfc, it's definitely the Quest that's getting me out there at the moment. Good luck with the triathlon training, I look forward to reading about your progress!
My longest run was 7K. Really chuffed with that. Been a lovely quest. Spending mother's day with my mother in law in Dunfermline and will be thinking fond thoughts about my own mam too. Have a lovely day tomorrow EVERYONE, mum's dad's son's and daughters etc etc. Thanks again RfC. Bee a great quest and looking forward to seeing which part of the country we have got too now.
I'm pleased to say that I managed my 3 runs each week running over 5k twice a week and a shorter run with my OH on Sundays. I started the B210k but didn't stick with the programme. (The first time I had a problem with the pod-cast - after the first 10 minutes run Sam Murphy told me to walk for 1 minute and then skipped straight into the warm up for week 2). I decided to run the route I'd planned and ran for 40 minutes without any walks. I then skipped week 1 and went straight onto week 2. At the end of the first 15 minutes run, I was at the top of all my hills and on my way down, so didn't feel the need to walk. I managed to run 7k in just over 47 minutes which I'm very happy with as this was my longest run.
On one run I had a shock when a huge, shaggy dog jumped out of the canal and missed me by a whisker. I jumped out of my skin, but managed to keep running. I was just recovering when he ran past me, stopped right in my path and shook his coat, showering me with cold, dirty water. I squeezed past him, only for the dog to overtake me and shake his coat again. Not one word of apology from the owner ..... Fortunately, I was near the end of my run.
Sorry i was reading the posts from this link last week, am i supposed to have logged in each week with you? My longest run(though this included warm up walks) was 7.7km, i've been doing mainly 3x 5 km runs eack week. And i did get to my quest aim of doing a parkrun without stopping, i've done 4 now with no walking
Achieved my goal of completing Week 5 of the programme - in fact I am about to go out for Run 2 of Week 6. My longest run is still only 4.35 km but I am really enjoying being able to run for more minutes each time I go out. This forum has been a great encouragement - thanks to all.
Hi RFC. My longest run was 5.2km and have managed the 3 per week. Many thanks for the quest and good wishes to all who joined and had fun along the way.
Hi all. There are some great posts & infectious enthusiasm here. Well I actually managed 7K and am thrilled to bits. It took me almost 51mins & I have to confess I was actually grateful to stop to cross roads & at times almost praying for more cars. I did it naked but that was more by accident than design & I definitely should have explained the term naked to husband before telling him all about my run.
Hi just completed wk6..about to start on wk7 run 1..and I can say I have managed to run 20mins 3times a wk..so chuffed I managed..lol..a think am a bit addicted to it (running) now.. Hope you all have a fantastic time on sun with yer family,or your mums or time reflecting of memorys of your mum xx...jules x
Hi everyone , I'm really happy to say that I've met the goals I set myself for this quest..I've run three times a week, every week. I've used the Stamina and Speed podcasts, sometimes both in one run and increased one of my runs by 10% approx each week...so I finally hit 7K last week .
This week I have run a 5.4K and a 5.6K ...and I'm so happy that I'm just back today from my third and longest run ....8K running to my playlist.I'm so chuffed
Well done to all who took up this challenge and a big thanks to you Rfc ,for setting it up.
Happy Mothers Day Mum ...and all the lovely Mums out there x
