Well reached run 2, week 5 about a month ago. Then my knee went took 2-3 weeks to recover, tried again..but knee went again. I think it's time to give up, these knees weren't meant for running....gutted, I was so enjoying it :(

Have you seen a doctor to find out what the actual cause is? I would advise playing safe and getting the knee checked out. If you do find running is not suitable for you then maybe cycling would suit as it's low impact. I know how you feel though - I'd hate to give up running now. Good luck and best wishes.

I agree with fitmo get your knee checked out, unless its an old injury that you already know about.

But you don't have to give up the C25K completely, why not do it walking. Instead of running on the run sections speed walk them, then on the walking sections slow to a brisk walk. For me it would be better than heading back to the couch!. You could also strengthen your knees with some cycling and swimming is a wonderful exercise, especially for anyone with joint weakness. Good luck, I hope you manage to stay fit and active.

I have had a dodgy knee for most of my life but wear a support and leg presses - single and double, have helped the supporting muscles. look at the options.

My knee has taken 3 weeks to get better, where do you get your support and leg presses from???? If you can run with a dodgy knee, then I'll give it another go! Thanks

amazon.co.uk/758-Open-Patel... This is similar but not exactly the same as I have (mine is quite old). Leg presses are exercises I do in the gym. There is a leg press machine and I was advised as well as doing it using both legs to do single leg ones with a lower weight. This is designed to strengthen my muscles around the knee. Best to seek advice in the gym though to make sure you don't do any more damage. Good luck, but if it doesn't improve best to get doctor to check.
