Completed Wk8R2 yesterday in quite a bit of pain but managed to do it. This morning my left knee is like a balloon!! So, so gutted as I was on course, and so looking forward to completing the whole thing by the end of next week. But, oh no, back to the bloody couch for me till I'm healed!! Its not gonna stop me, knee strengthening exercises for me and back on it!! Congratulations to all those that have completed this week. I WILL get there!! πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

That is such disappointing news for you. But having got so far you won’t give up, even if you need to rest for a bit. Keep looking through these posts to keep your spirits up. There are bound to be stories from people who have had the same experience. You will soon be a graduate. The finishing line is in sight.

You may want to check your shoes if they are not worn or maybe not designed for running at all. I had similar problems with my knees getting injured and proper running shoes sorted the problem. Running is a very high impact activity! This is especially important if you are overweight putting even more stress on them poor knees...

That's disappointing - but keep going. I agree with Don_Pedro that it's worth checking your shoes. I was getting knee problems and then I bought some new running shoes (Brooks Ghost) and I haven't had any problems since.

Thank you, new shoes ordered

I am sorry that you are benched- Never run through pain; your body is sending you a message. Take your time, you will be back there before you know it!

The guide to the plan states as clearly as we can make it that you should never run through pain.

Check out the guide for advice on dealing with injury but don't rush to start any strengthening exercises until you are pain free and the swelling has gone down.

Do not attempt to run again until you are totally pain free.

Something caused this and so you need to try to identify the cause.

Your shoes may well be the issue, but possibly overstriding and going too fast, all of which is covered in the guide.

Take care.
