After a tough Run 1 on Sunday, I combed the forum and then looked at my Garmin data and wondered if I'd struggled because I was picking up pace (my Garmin showed my pace was faster on that run).
This morning I focussed on running really slowly and it worked! I felt within my abilities and was able to enjoy the view and my music a bit and I was even surprised when the two 8 min intervals were up! I didn't feel I needed the full 5 min rest walk in between either even though I stuck to it.
My average and peak heart rate were both 11 bpm less than yesterday which totally corresponds to my own feeling about my relative capacity on the two runs.
I did feel that I was jogging like a snail but I am so grateful for all the good advice on here and I will sticking to snail-pace religiously until the end of the program. Fingers crossed for Thursday's 20 minute run!

Guess what, if you keep up that snail pace it will actually carry you through 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 kilometres! I am living proof. Never thought I could cover so much distance but really pleased to have done so, and that is my only advice! Go for it
sounds like you got it sussed now! i don't have a garmin yet but hope to have one soon, i think it will really help to track my progress! Theres no shame in jogging like a snail, i think alot of us can identify with that! Good luck for your 20 mins............
