Week 5 Run 3 anguish

It's been a week since I ran last due to not being well (gutted to not run). My next run is week 5 run 3, should I go for it or do week 5 r2 again?

Well i had a week between week 4 run 3 and week 5 run 1( did it last night) and managed it. But really depends on you . Having read posts here it seems that how you think is important.. I decided I was going for it and I would n't be too upset if I could n't do it.. Good luck! whatever you decide will be right for you :-)

Oh this is a tough question- if it were me, I would do W5 r2 again because it is a jump to R3 and I know that would give me a bit more confidence. I suppose it depends where you are running too, I've just been out and didn't know whether the wind was in my face, up my back or sideways! As pot58 said whatever you decide will be right-just go out and enjoy! Good luck.x

Thanks guys. I think I will do r2 again, and if I feel like pressing on I will. I would rather have 2 shots at it than failing on my first attempt.

You could try it. It's not a disaster if you can't manage it. I think as you have only had a short lay off that you'll be fine

Happy running

Such a lot of the running comes down to mind over matter. Think positive, give it a go. What is the very worst that can happen? You may have to slow down a bit or even stop. But there's always tomorrow! Get your positive head on, get out there and keep relaxed!

This is supposed to be FUN not a stressor!

I did it! So pleased, it wasn't as hard as I thought. I am realising running is like swimming, the first 20 or so lengths are the hardest, after that you could go on forever. Well, kind of. Cruel twist of fate though, my phone switched off during the cool down walk and it didn't record my stats! Sobbing like a baby. But I did it, yay!

Really well done. I came to this post late & was wondering whether or not you did it. Kept on reading & hey presto. Never mind those stats, put that smile back on your face. You did it!
