This is the run that I've been dreading all weekend. I've been thinking of every excuse under the sun why running isn't for me. But I thought ill do it, collapse then say it's not for me. But I did it, in fact I actually enjoyed it. Yes. Even I'm surprised. I'm so happy I managed it. Bring on run 2.

I felt exactly the same today, and I'm still amazed that I managed to drag myself out! Not the best times but unfortunately I live in a hilly town and I've always got a hill or two no matter where I go. I felt my knees aching in week 4 and am still amazed at how much better it was tonight! Day 2 won't be until Thurs now, but looking forward to it already! Good luck and well done!

Well done, I am doing wk 5 run 2 today again as had 5 days off due to a back injury- should be doing run 3 now but thought it best to try 2 again and see how I get on. Good luck for run 2. I found thinking about the music not the distance or time, really helped me but that last 60 secs seemed longer!! :)

Well done. I've got it next week. So good to hear how it went from another dreading it person. !

SNAP!! I did that run last night too and just like you I was dreading it, then actually enjoyed it before walking home with a maniacal grin on my beetroot face...got more stares from that than my running! We're technically halfway through now 13.5 (rest day = 0.5) runs done. Hooray!!

Hello all week 5ers! I'm due to do run 2 tomorrow, and I felt exactly the same as the rest of you after doing run 1 Yessssssss!!!!!!!!!! I truly believe I can do run 2, bit worried about dodgy ankle, but I'm going to try! In the past that would have been me giving up, but I'm gonna drag myself up at 6ish and try. Can't believe it!

Thanks for all your replies. I did run2 of week 5 and again, it was manageable. It's a great feeling when you finish. I might struggle with run 3 though - that's a biggie. Enjoy your runs.
