I'm starting week 2 on Monday! That's good to hear it went well - how did you feel at the end of week 1?

Tizzie profile image
TizzieGraduate in reply to gblackman

I felt better than I expected and eager to give week 2 a go. Although I do lots of walking and Zumba I am over weight so thought this would hinder me. Hopefully it will all help with my weightless as well. Good luck Monday.

I still find it interesting that running feels so different to fast walking, even though I'm probably doing the same speed! Keep going, you're all doing well.

just back from my first runWk2 harder than i thought... but i did do another route due to flooding and mud. My new route was slightly uphill !!!! did not plan on any upwards trends just yet !

Me too! It was hard work - got stitch for the first time. Kept telling my legs to keep going & they did! Well done you too - here's to W2R2!!

Did W2R2 tonight - went ok. Struggled with the last run a bit. Worried about the transition to week 3 - maybe R3 will be a miracle run!!

If you can motivate yourself to get out on a night like this then you can do anything! Enjoy the Pj's and why not throw the duvet in for good measure!!

Started week 2 on Wednesday and found the step up quite hard. I was looking forward to finding out if I could manage it and even left work early to get to the gym. Run 2 tomorrow!

Let us know how run 2 goes, going to do mine Monday. What's people's view on running in the gym verses outside?

almac30 profile image
almac30 in reply to Tizzie

Run 2 was tonight. Felt a lot better than run 1. Still can't believe how much harder it is running for that extra ½ minute. I'd prefer to be running outside, but like the "comfort" of setting the pace on the treadmill and knowing that I'm not going too fast or too slow. I also want to be able to run for a reasonable time before I hit the streets, but that's just my insecurity.

Ultimate aim is to join my son at a Parkrun sometime in March or April.

Run 3 on Wednesday. No excuses not to do it!

I also found the step up quite hard.. but my new route avoiding flooding and med took me uphill ! Not really what i wanted to do just yet. Keep me posted on how you get on with the rest of week2. : )

How did run 2 go? I did W2R2 tonight. The last bit was hard!!

Tizzie profile image
TizzieGraduate in reply to LSBeech75

The second from last was hardest. We actually ran further than run 1. When are you doing run 3?

LSBeech75 profile image
LSBeech75Graduate in reply to Tizzie

At some point on Thursday when I can fit it in. Love how Laura has such confidence that I will be able to run for longer with greater ease - ha ha - we'll see! Hope yours is going well

It was hard going, was glad to get the last run over with and on to the walk to recover. I did find it easier than run 1.

This is my third attempt at C25K and didn't make it past week 2 before. First time was because I gave up or found excuses not to go to the gym. Second time was due to picking up an injury in my ankle.

The ankle is still bothering me slightly when running/walking but seems to clear up pretty quickly afterwards.

As long as I stay injury free, I reckon I can do this!

I'm sure you will do it this time. Looks like we will be attempting w3 around the same time as well as LSbeech75.

Thanks Tizzie. I seem to be more determined this time. I did W1R2 on a Saturday afternoon. You should have seen the look of utter amazement (or shock) on my wife's face when I came down the stairs with my kit on and said I was off to the gym.

The first time I tried C25K she had to use a bit of "gentle pressure" to get me to the gym. This time I know myself that I need to improve my health.

when i first read this i thought your wife was shocked because you had your kit OFF !! Ha Ha must read things properly : )

Definitely you can do this. Looking at the comments on here helps me out loads. Good luck for the next run!

Scrappydee1 profile image
Scrappydee1Graduate in reply to LSBeech75

i find the second run the hardest... then i low down, relax and then seem to manage ok. I feel that the brisk walking is too long as im getting cold (maybe it will be ok when the weather is not so cold )

Scrappydee1 profile image
Scrappydee1Graduate in reply to LSBeech75

second run was hard- then i slowed down and it was better.

Tizzie profile image
TizzieGraduate in reply to Scrappydee1

Not sure I can run (jog) any slower lol. Calves hurt at beginning of R3W2 even during the walking but much better towards end. Still not sure I'm going to manage 3 mins of jogging without stopping on Friday but we'll see. Good luck all for W3, let us know how you find it.

Finished W2R3 tonight. Found it not too bad. I couldn't content myself last night so went to the gym and cycled for half an hour so I was worried the legs would be too stiff tonight, however it was OK. I'm sure we'll manage the 3 mins of jogging. Onwards and upwards!!
