Fun at the Physio

Met the lovely Hannah the sports physio today. She was awesome! Loads of questions, lots of watching me walking/standing/sitting. Turns out I have a weak right hand glute which is why my IT band has been overworking giving me the hip pain. She said all my joints were fine even my dodgy knee which is just scratchy not arthritic which is positive! Anyway, bit of manipulation, massage, strengthening exercises to take away and £40 later and I feel a lot happier (not about the £40 though). At least I know it can be fixed! She did say my new Brooks were good too :-)

Really pleasedyou are sorted Jen . You & I will be flying round them 5ks in the summer ! Do you have to go back ? Yes the physio examined my brooks as much as he did me lol , looked at the soles how they had wore & said they where good for my gait . I tell you something , I've been doing my excercises , daily & my foot is loads better . Make sure you do them you will be amazed at the difference it will make.

Thanks Rockette I will. I'm not usually very good at doing stuff like that but will force myself! At least I know what I'm dealing with now. Yes, got another appointment on 31st - another £30. There was me thinking running was cheap! Really pleased to hear you're loads better. That's brill!

I probably could have done but just wanted to get it sorted to be honest. I knew this centre had good physios so was prepared to pay for it if it meant I can get back out there!

Yes , your right. I'd have paid too , it's money well spent .if I hadn't have got in as quick as I did I would have too .

Forty quid (ok, £70) will seem a small price to pay when you are running effortlessly along the seafront with the sea breeze in your hair, on a summer evening. I'm a tight wad, but think I need to do the same as you, to get to the base of some of my recurrent aches. I suspect I have legs of unequal length, which is why I can only go clockwise round hills.

I hope you are sorted. Good luck.

Yeah, I figured you have to speculate to accumulate! I'll just have to take my own lunch to work for a montb! Can you get an nhs referral Mr T? I just couldn't wait.

It seems too petty to bother the NHS with. I have a close acquaintance who is a sports physio, who may give me mate's rates, when I am clearer about what I am consulting him for. I keep hoping that my core strength exercises will eliminate the problem completely, but haven't quite got there.
