Boxing Day and I'm out there too!

Been struggling with this hip pain which has kept me to only one run a week so feeling a bit jaded and out of condition! Lovely day today in the first sunshine of the week so made the most of it at the seafront and a nice traditional bit of Morris. Really felt I needed a run after two days of over indulgence so headed out carefully and slowly this evening. Managed 4.6k in 33 mins so no awards for distance or speed but hip felt ok so glad to be back out there. Looking forward to getting back on track and burning off those chocs!

That's great - well done. I'm glad your hip is feeling better too. I've decided not to worry about time/distance until the weather gets better and I can get into a good routine of running again. I'm just focusing on getting out there whenever I can and getting rid of those extra cals too!

That's great Jen , must be awfull having to limit the running , but glad your getting back into it & sounds. Like your doing well . It was a lovely day yesterday , weather was cold but bright , great for running , except for the icy bits ! Keep up the good work .

Thanks mate. Yes it's frustrating but I'm trying to be sensible. Hip hurts today but not as bad as it has been. I think its tendonitis. Just don't want to lose my impetus. If I WANT to run I want to just do it!

Good to hear you managed to get out and your hip didn't give you any bother. Hope that's the problem resolved. I have been following cherry-runner61's approach of not worrying about speed and distance but just getting out there. Ok, I have taken this approach because my Garmin wasn't charged properly and I don't have a watch, but still...

I use mapmyrun so always know how far my route is. At this stage I just want to be comfortable rather than trying to better my best all the time. Plenty of time for that! Speed can wait!
