Dragging myself out there

New me has hatched a plot to run on alternate days (rather than 3x a week) and has signed up to Ju-ju's Spring Quest to this effect. So this morning despite me pointing out that I have an 8 hour round trip to take Daughter 1 back to Uni she decides to set the alarm clock so she can get a run in beforehand!

Decidedly reluctant to leave my bed - especially given the mist and decidedly damp weather waiting outside. Definitely needed Laura on side to prevent me from giving up so ran with the none too vigorous Stepping Stone podcast.

15 minutes in and I was wondering why I didn't run every day at this time especially when the mist rolling across the park makes everything look so other worldly. Legs felt good, work preoccupations were put in their rightful place (a tightly closed box at the very back of my mind), the world looked lovely and there was coffee waiting back at home.

A gentle 30 minute jog to start the day 😊. New me is still smug despite Strava telling me I've run the same route 3 times now and this was the slowest - better slow than not at all eh? πŸ˜‰

I used to use run tracker which I really liked but as it wasn't web based I couldn't transfer the data when I got a new phone. At that point I began my love hate relationship with Strava!

It’s good to run at different levels. Slow running builds legs πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

Nicely done Debs .. not sure I could do every other day too much planning involved. Good luck with the new routine week done for getting out there today.

I'm trying for alternate days with a 'lighter' week once a month. Am aiming to build my running legs so I can push for more distance during the summer holidays when I have lots more time. Hoping it will help but it might just finish me off...
