Well got in this afternoon from work , I've got two hrs before I go back , was going to run to work in morning but lovely afternoon so running gear on , no messing & I was off , now don't know if it's a good idea doing a 5k run on a fast day ( 5.2 diet )? I'd not had a bite , + a very physically demanding shift at work but I was fine , I did 5.05 k in 35.24 mins last run was 5.1 k in 34..30 but still pleased with that , so tomorrow I can have a bit extra time In bed , no running to work in dark . Yipheee .
Another 5k done . : Well got in this afternoon... - Couch to 5K
Another 5k done .
Go girl ! Fantastic time i bet your son really proud of you I know I could never have a fasting day let alone work and run on one. I have been on diets off and on all adult life but when started c25k stopped counting calories and tried to eat healthier and be more aware of what I am eating Always starving after run and have to eat but over last 10 wks lost 10 lbs Think its cos not eating so much rubbish and feel good factor of running means I don't seem to binge as much
I'm same as you , I've been on off diets most of my adult life too , just had a discussion with one of my daughters , telling me I don't need to diet while I'm running , says I should just eat healthy . Think she as a point , I'm starving now lol . Thanks for your comments I was a bit disappointed. When I saw my time , but gave myself a telling off , I couldn't do that a few wks back ! We are allways hard on ourselves .
I was going to s club and found it so depressing that I would get to about 3.00 in afternoon and have no calories left for rest of day So I would get so down I just started to eat everything in site also I wanted to loose weight quickly but as soon as I ate normally or had meal out put on loads of weight So vicious circle Feel much calmer about weight now and accept slow but steady is best --- just like my running Shame is taken all theses years to realise all this but better late than never
Wow, brilliant Rockette well done! Especially running on empty! I'm wondering if the 5k feels a bit easier once the pressure is off with Laura etc? have you found that? By the way, at your recommendation I got 'Running like a Girl' on my nook and I haven't put it down! Really motivational.
Thanks Jen , have you come down yet from your fantastic graduation run ? Glad your enjoying the book , I loved it . Yes I think the 5ks are still tough , but you don't feel under pressure it's just at your own leisure & to your own music . What you said in your last post , about needing some structure I defiantly need to have something to work towards , I'm working towards getting my time down , & increasing the distance . I'm going to put my name down for a race for life next summer too , so all these will help . Are you going to enter any park runs ? I am when I have a free weekend . Keep up the good work , we have done it !!!!
Yes, I'm definitely going to sign up for the Eastbourne Parkrun! I've also booked an earlybird entry for race for Life next year too! I went down to the seafront this afternoon to watch the 5k Santa Fun Run. It was brilliant - in fact I really wish I'd made it my graduate run now but it was a bit soon. I'm definitely on that one next year in my Santa suit! Do they do anything like that where you are? Sometimes you don't know till you look!
Yes the Santa fun run was this morning in our park , they supply the Santa suits , I was working though so missed it . I haven't booked race for life yet . Good on ya you mean business , . I must say I do miss the excitement of the plan though , that feeling of a meaning to the runs , if you know what I mean .
Yes, I do. I was thinking the same actually. Although I'm looking forward to the pressure being off I know I'm going to miss Laura (but not the music!). I think that's why it's important to get on those Parkruns and also get into the Fun Runs. Perhaps the running for charity thing will be the new meaning.
