Week 9 run 1 ...I'm not a morning person!

Ok so my last morning run was tough, but I had to run this morning due to work shifts so off I went. It was a lovely morning out there, blue skies, blue sea and sunny with a little bit of frost on the paths. I set off and got into my stride after about five minutes.. fifteen minutes came and my legs were aching, I was finding it tough and I was so tempted to stop and walk but I kept thinking..no, it's only two minutes more than last week and I'll soon be finished so I pushed on and managed 3.7 k in 30 minutes. I've reached the conclusion that I'm better running afternoon, early evening time as once I got home my legs felt wobbly again. Anyway, another run ticked off! :)

Well done Debze. That's 30 minutes non stop running, bet you didn't think that would be possible 8 short weeks ago?!

I agree with you about morning running, but sometimes we just need to get the run in when we can.

Thanks! I definitely didn't think I could run even 3 minutes eight weeks ago lol :)

Well done Debze for just getting out and putting the last run behind you. Well into wk 9 now with just 2 runs left and safe in the knowledge you can do them cause you did it today.

Looking forward to your Graduated post!

Well done debze for getting out there and completing your first run of week 9. That's not bad either, 3.7km in 30 minutes. I'm with you on running in the morning...I'm just not made of the right stuff to do it! :D

I am not finding the time to finish off my final run. I was due to complete it yesterday, but had my cousin's funeral and wake to attend to in the afternoon/evening and due to working nights I was asleep in the morning! I finished my last shift (which I started at 10:30pm last night) very late this morning, so waking up a few hours ago to find it already dark, I've missed another opportunity this evening. I really hope I can wake up tomorrow afternoon a little earlier in order to do it, otherwise that will be yet another day lost! :(

Anyway...only 2 more runs for you! :) Good luck with them. x

So sorry to hear about your cousin. 🙁 I'm planning on running tomorrow after work around 12:15, before lunch. How about a run then? Get a good night's sleep and run me an "abstract one" Lee337 😉

Thank you Flossie, but I work nights and finish around 9am, so if ya think I'm then going to get up 3 hours later for a run, you're very much on yer own! lol Thanks for the offer though! :)

Oh I am sorry, I would never have suggested that if I had known. But I still look forward to seeing your abstract route. My penultimate one was an absolute loony of a shape! Took abstract to new heights! Happy running and get some sleep 😴

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin Lee337 . I agree about finding the time to run with these shorter days and I think I am much more relaxed and ready to run once I've been awake for a good few hours. Hope you find the time to complete your graduation run, I'm planning my next run on Sunday so may be running virtually alongside you lol

good luck! and thank you ! :) x

Sorry to hear about your cousin! I was just thinking about you last night Lee as I was worried id missed your graduation!! Glad I haven't and the celebrations are waiting for you!! It can be difficult fitting runs in sometimes but you will soon be there! 😊I'm watching out for you with the champagne😂😂

Thank you, and yes it's been very difficult indeed to do anything really. Doing all the hours I'm currently doing (and with those hours being on nights too) I'm usually knackered before I even start thinking about anything else! lol

You are tougher than me :) The few times I tried evening running I absolutely hated it :)

Well done for pushing through! I totally agree - I have run a few times in the morning and those runs have been awful. I'm not a morning person in general and my preferred time to do anything at all productive is mid to late evening so that's what I've stuck with!

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly. So close to graduation now! Enjoy your last couple of runs!
