IOS C25K timings incorrect...?

Hi, I've been suspicious about the accuracy of timings in the ios app. I did w5 d2 tonight (walk 5, run 8, repeat) and the walk seemed lengthy, the runs seemed to go on and on.

Once home I reset my iphone and started the app again and timed the steps... The 5 min walks wend for nearly 7 mins, the 8 min walks for nearly 10....!?!? Anyone else had this?? VERY disheartening when you've been running for what seems an age and you check your timer and only 3 mins have elapsed according to the app :(

I once had what felt like a really easy run and thought I had made a real breakthrough as I seemed to get through it so quickly. It was only after I got home that I realised I had inadvertently set the podcast to play at double speed so I had only done things for half the time! It's strange - you'd think you'd notice the music going faster, but I didn't.

Could it be that you have done something to alter the speed at which it is playing?

I don't believe there is an option in the app to alter speeds - you can skip back and forth between runs & walks but thats all

Yes, the app definitely has issues, it won't shuffle playlists either. I think I'll just use my timer now the runs are longer, or download the actual podcast (although I hear Laura's taste in music leaves a lot to be desired)!

I really like Laura's taste in music. It's not anything I would buy from iTunes or Amazon per se, but it really keeps me going on the treadmill. Each to their own, I guess

Yes I have, just done Wk 4 and we've had several occasions on both phones were the 1st 5 min walk has lasted 8 to 10 min! But the rest of the session appears ok, as others say it's a bit disheartening when you are relying on the info for your exercise!!

Look carefully at the screen - my iphone 5 definitely shows options for "0.5 x" or "1.5 x" when the podcast is playing and it sounds like you might have knocked the screen.

I downloaded the podcasts before the app was available. It is free to download these from iTunes, however I have the old iOs, so can't download the 3 C25K graduate podcasts unless I update the software on my phone (grrr!) The timings are accurate, and although the music is a mixed bag, I find that when I'm concentrating on trying to keep going, the music is the least of my worries :-)
