Hello. I just wanted to ask. Not sure if I’m on target but at Week 5 I’m completing about 2.3 miles during my 30 min session. Week approx 31 mins with the outro. Can anyone advise on the likeihood of whether I’ll get to 5K in 30 mins? I understand a 5K is approx 3.1 miles and I guess the tester will be my next run this week which is the 5 min walk, 20 min run (what???☺️) and 5 min cool down 😊
Distance and will I make the C25K: Hello. I just... - Couch to 5K
Distance and will I make the C25K
Another 10% of graduates on this forum manage a sub 30 minute 5k at graduation, so don't worry about it.
The graduation requirement is that you have run for thirty minutes three times.
Don't worry, are doing great.
I really do want to try for the 5K in 30. I think the 20 min run this week will give me a better idea of how I’m doing. Thanks for your reply Ian.
Forget the time. Just work on distance. I'll never do 5K in 30mins. Am too slow!!
I'd aim for the 30 minutes run, I graduated last month, been doing regular run with the group i joined and been attending my local park run on Saturday mornings, i'm slowly each week knocking time off, but still only doing the 5K in over 36 minutes but i'm over the moon with that, think how far we've come from that first C25K run.
At this stage don't worry about distance/speed it's about running for the required time, speed/distance can come later. I now run half marathon distance but have still not run a sub 30 5k, maybe one day I'll push the speed training and then again maybe not
What they said. Your doing great... it’s all about the 30 minutes, then think about speed and distance... extra pace needs extra endurance, this plan is about building that endurance and runners should never try and build both in the same run.
