I've done it , wk 5r2 , I was worried how the knee& ankle would hold up , but did pre run stretches for first time & pain free run .

I really enjoyed it , weather was lovely , breezy & sunny I felt fantastic . & at the end when Laura said that's it , there was a old tyre dumped on ground I ran & leapt over it punching the air ! God knows what anybody thought . Whoop whoop , bring the 20 min run on , bring it on !

lol - love your profile pic, I'll be doing that in a few hrs ;-)

Well done - you're a couple of runs behind me. I started stretching (NHS Knee exercises) in about week three due to knee pains and it's helped no end.

My favourite run so far is Wk5R3, it sounds like you are ready for it - enjoy.

Yes, matp I'm doing them stretches for knees and some others I googled I'm mixing them up . I think my new Aldi running socks helped lol , they r left & right foot sock with Achilles support on heels and other bits n bobs really comfy £2.99 a pair , I'm off for some more tomorrow . I'm doing wk5r3 Monday , can't wait . Good luck with rest of your runs , .

Well done Rockette! You're two runs ahead of me so I love reading your posts! I'm due to run my first one of Wk 5 on Monday. I wonder if 90mph winds will help... :-)

Lol , depends if said wind will be blowing in right direction . Good luck Monday , I'll be thinking about you . Weather permitting I'll be doing last run wk 5 on Monday . Good luck .

Great result. Goes to show how important warm up/stretches are. Equally important is the cool down/stretches at the end. Running is a package of these things in my opinion. In the early weeks I neglected stretching and felt it - however now I am in the routine of preparing for a run properly I feel the benefits. Must feel great to run pain free. Well done on your progression. M

Yes it does feel great mhussain , I have never stretched before runs , but I know now , what a difference , haven't had a pain free run in two wks . I hope I have turned a corner .

Well done! I have never stretched before runs either. I thought the 5 mins walk was enough. Do they really make a difference?
