... that awful sound this morning was me singing along to my iPod after successfully running for more than 20 minutes today!

After coming to a grinding halt at the half way stage of W5R3 on Friday, I made up my own playlist and ran to that today. I found it SO much more fun and the 20 minutes passed quite quickly. My legs started to ache around the 15 minutes or so mark, but I soon forgot about that once Paolo Nutini started singing!

Really chuffed to have got myself past the W5R3 milestone - it was always going to be a tough one for me physically and, especially, mentally. I can really recommend setting up your own playlist to anyone else who is struggling.

Thanks to everyone for their support and advice since Friday!

Were you singing along with Paulo? Impressed you had the puff. My last run ended with Earth Wind and Fire - boogie wonderland. My speed noticeably increased, think I was taken back in time and running as if I was a spring chicken.

Seriously though, that is really great news. Glad it worked out this time.

No, I was singing on the warm down walk! The music certainly helped to put a spring in my step though. Will try it again for the next long run I think.
