Is there anyone else out there that goes as red as a tomato.I did go slower today just to get to the end?Don't like being blinded by salty sweat dripping in eyes.Looking ahead now, what advice from the graduates for my future. No rude comments please! I do intend to go into the local park when pathways are completed, and wonder whether I shorten my runs but try and up the speed or try and run longer!or do intermittent running fast!slow on treadmill.
I have just run my 2nd day of week 9.Im nearly... - Couch to 5K
I have just run my 2nd day of week 9.Im nearly there, thank goodness.Im pretty knackered.
Yes, yes and yes. Short runs faster, longer runs slower and play with the different paces for intervals on the treadmill. Do all or any combination, but remember to enjoy it. Happy running and good luck for graduating!
Didn't know how red I got till i saw myself in the mirror when i got home. It must be normal! I go slowly, my aim is to run for longer, cover more ground. Not worrying about speed as I don't want any injuries. Still getting used to this business.
Thankyou.Seems anything goes,so I will try the lot xx
Try the three podcasts/MP3 files for graduates at nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...
Vary your runs (quick runs/intervals/long, slow runs) so you have something new to look forward to.
Buy a headband (JuicyJu recommends orange) or wristband for the sweat.
Enjoy yourself...
Go running outside ASAP. You'll be thrilled at the difference it makes.
Another graduate on the way. Brilliant. I plan to vary as per above advice and have really enjoyed listening to different music while I am out.
The graduate conga from this week will wait for you! Red - definitely. Sweat in the eyes - usually only when I get home so I don't wear a headband but do unlady like mopping with various articles of clothing on way to shower. I cannot go out unless I have tissues tucked into all sleeves. To keep the variety I am planning on some longer, some shorter and maybe quicker (not in my repertoire yet but hey) and definitely those interval things - just so I can say "I may try fartlek this week". Well done and enjoy the last one. Don't try to go too fast just try to enjoy the journey. And listen out for the conga....
Thankyou everyone for the great advice.I will report back when I complete run 3.You will all hear me shout and I certainly will do the conga?Very best wishes and cool running xx
I'm a big hot sweaty red mess at the end of my runs but I love it!
I've downloaded Zombies, Run to try out something different and did my first ParkRun this morning. I'm definitely keeping up the running, but think I'll just concentrate on speeding up my 5k time for now
Brill missy. It will be a long time before I can run 5km,but won't stop trying. You are doing so well, and glad you are enjoying it. X
Well done u x x
I go very very red, use a sweatband which is normally soaking by the time I finish.
