I may be getting ahead of myself but could do with one for winter as it gets colder and wetter. Don't wanna wuss out of running.

I don't want tosh but I can't afford a lot. One to see me through til Santa brings me a better one would do! :)

I really like my Brooks Ladies Nightlife II Jacket. It's wind and water-repellant and I wore it throughout last winter over a technical t-shirt. It didn't get sweaty inside and was ideal for when it was raining, but also to keep the wind off when a long-sleeved shirt would have been too cold due to wind chill.

It's been washed numerous times and is still looking good as new. I've just dug it out again recently to use as a wind break for my cycle commute on the chilly mornings.

If it's only a 'see-me-through-to-Christmas' jacket that you require, then you could check out the £19.99 runners jacket on Amazon! (£10.00 saving on normal price) It is wind proof and shower resist. Very few, reasonably priced jackets are completely waterproof as that would mean the sealant on the fabric would keep all the sweat you generate inside the coat too - very uncomfy and yucky!

If you get yourself a sleeved 'running top' (ie one that has 'wicking capabilities', you'll be able to wear this pretty much all year round, staying dry from sweat .... And then just slip over a shower resist jacket like the one on offer - when the skies look really cloudy.

I used a very similar one last winter - and when it was sub-zero temperatures I put on a thermal under-vest too. These are really lightweight and while running (and you'll be whizzing along by Christmas!) you won't want bulky coverings. I learned about thermal clothes while camping outside or in caves in snowy mountains in New Zealand ... I got lots of good advice there ;)

The only other things you might like are a hat (if your head gets wind/rain blasted it really hurts) and some gloves - I chose fingerless gloves so I could still work my phone/MP3/ watch etc.

Hope this helps, Linda x

Agree with swanscot & Linda.

But also, have a look on the Sports Direct website - they often have special offers where you can pick up decent things for not too much money. They have Karrimor jackets from £11.00 upwards at the moment.
