I've got a Nike climaproof black jacket, which is perfect in terms of heat control and is very breathable. But the hi-viz cycle jacket I've been using gets very wet inside after only a short distance of running.
Please can anyone recommend a hi-viz BREATHABL... - Couch to 5K
Please can anyone recommend a hi-viz BREATHABLE shower proof jacket?
mines not hiviz, just bright pink but its by adidas & Im sure its showerproof. definately kept my arms dry when it was raining last time I ran & dried very quickly when hung up afterwards.
its an adidas response climacool jacket. very light & not noisy, like some of the cheaper waterproof jackets.
Mine's a Mifit hi-viz jacket and is very lightweight and breathable, it's only shower proof however, no good for heavy rain.
I'm at a loss to understand why anyone would want a showerproof jacket! I never start a run in the rain but if it rains while I'm out, I love it, it cools me down a treat!
Yes I'm with on never starting in the rain - I guess it was breathability I was more interested in.
Cheers.
I go running in all weathers as I learned very early on how lovely it is to be cooled down by the rain - when I was running indoors I used to get soaking within a few mins from "perspiring" so much, I really enjoy running in the rain like a big kid splasing thru puddles AS LONG as I have my peaked cap on to keep rain out of my face! I have a showerproof /windproof which I take off as soon as I have warmed u and tie round my waist.
I found a lovely hi-viz jacket in Aldi the other day. It's meant for cycling but works just as well for running. And the best bit is that it has a zip either side under the arms which you can unzip and this helps the breathability. Having said that, if I get too hot I end up taking it off and tying it around my waist until I've finished running and then put it back on for the walk home!!
Great - i use 'pit-zips' on m,y walking gear - thanks
Another suggestion, if you have a jacket that is breathable etc, but just need the hi viz is to buy reflective stuff to either put on or over your existing jacket.
I have got a sleeveless hi viz gilet with reflective stripes on, and also bought a couple of packs of reflectors, which look like flat strips of reflective plastic, about 1in by 8 ins and you can sort of wrap them firmly round your arms and ankles. All in the pound shop!
