Old (ish) timer running!

Well that's it then, just got back from completing Run 3, Week 9 - Graduated 😊. Chuffed to bits with myself and intend to keep on running now. I'm 63 years old, 6'2" tall and quite heavily built at 17 st 5 lbs. Been into sport all my life but haven't played seriously or competitively since my mid 40's(football), and I haven't done any distance running since then either. I was therfore a bit dubious about starting the Couch to 5k, but am so glad I did. I'm not fast by any means, but I completed every single run without a stop or a walk - well pleased. If I can do it there must be many men out there similar to me who could and should take the plunge. ☺️

Hi UNM, how did the junior parkrun go this morning? I understand that you were a marshall at it, did miss UNM run or as you told me yesterday did she just stay in her bed?

She came... she didn’t run it πŸ˜‚. Got there the usually early and off she went... ran 35 minutes and then pretty much walked the run... but whatever floats her boat I guess.

It was a good event today... the fastest guys were missing so no sub 7 minute 2ks today which I thought was great for the 8 minute group... it’s not about numbers but kids love it when they’re a couple of places up!
