I took a different route at the start of my run this morning, and intended to just go up that road and then back down and do my normal route. However, as I was going round a steep hairpin bend, a dog started running along just behind me. It stopped following after a short distance, but I didn't really want to go back the same way and past that same dog. This meant I needed to change my planned route, which meant I ended up having to run down the main highway (that actually goes to all the way to Damascus) ... no pavement, but there is a little bit of space at the side of the road, and fortunately not too much traffic.
So then I managed to loop round and get back to my normal route. It was actually quite pleasant running this morning - a bit of a breeze and it felt cooler than it has done. I managed to keep running along the whole grind back up towards my home, but was keeping my eyes definitely on the road a few paces ahead of me, trying not to look at how steep the hill was. Good thing I was looking at the road, as that meant I managed to avoid stepping on a snake!
