.....not quite near enough! I was out this morning and did 10.85K. Nothing exciting, not terribly fast. I just wanted to do the distance and wasn't bothered about the time (a fairly sluggish 1hr 7mins). But when I looked at the cumulative total for the month I could have kicked myself. It's now at 99.88K for August. Just 5 more minutes would have taken me to the 100K target. Ah well, two more runs planned before we go on hols so that will take me comfortably over 100K.
So near and yet......: .....not quite near... - Couch to 5K
So near and yet......
Ned well done and 1:07 for nearly 11K is not slow young man. Great total running for August you should be well over 100K, excellent.
Ha! You got me hooked on the magical 100k, I'm glad you are too!
Well done!
Now with a 5k and 7k planned for the week (I remember your plan for 5, 7 and 12 each week) will you make it to 10% over? The next stop is to go imperial, 100 miles in a month? ???
Again, I bow down in awe of your greatness!
100k in a month is awesome, especially given the heat some weeks. And I'd die happy to run 11k in that time.
I have managed about 16 miles this week...and my body knows it!
Thanks [blushes]!! And it's always worth looking at things in a different way. You've run 16 miles this week, which is 25.75K which is a) a bigger number so sounds better, and b) a quarter of the way to 100K a month, in just one week. So you too have 100k a month in your grasp! Go girl, Go.
Ned you total ba*****!! That's incredible! I mean......just incredible. Just reading it made me exhausted. You are one mean running machine.
Sluggish? Really? I think that's absolutely fantastic, I'd be thrilled if I could run any where near 10K let alone in that time! And 100K in a month? You put my attempts at running to shame
Thank you. You will run 10k. You will. And 100K in a month is surprisingly do-able, without being OTT about it. I've surprised myself about it!
Thanks for your encouragement - I'm struggling to improve my distance or speed at the moment so am just sticking with a slow and steady 30 minutes instead of getting too disheartened. Hopefully in time it may happen. You definitely are a real inspiration and give me hope that it may be possible.
Wow that's fantastic... And a good time too for your run. You are doing so well and I love the 100k plan...you are an inspiration!! I'm really hoping to achieve it myself if I can drag myself out of bed early tomorrow.....well done you ... And I'm lovin the tags!!
Well done. Should have popped back out and run up and down the garden path a couple of times!! I've still only done 10k once and like you wish I started all this much younger. Good Luck for September. Linda
Well done on the distance and great time. Just wondered how you made the transition from graduate to long distance running machine ?
Was it a gradual build up over time and did you follow a particular plan ?
Thank you. I'm flattered to be thought of as a long distance running machine! I guess I just built up gradually over time, although I did do a one-off 10K soon after graduating just because it felt right on the day and I felt I could. Sometimes you just have to go with "how it feels". I haven't followed any particular plan; I've just kept on keeping on!!
