Try running 6km, and then join a parkrun.

Thanks crox, I have done a few PR's best time was just over 33mins....... when I'm running at my comfortable pace 6:30 mins /K I feel I could probably go on to do 10K... just when I try to improve my pace it seems allude me. Will see how it goes tomorrow.... Thanks

Maybe you're destined to be a long distance runner, not a sprinter? :-)

Hats off to you - 5 x 30 minute runs in a row is pretty impressive! Good luck for tomorrow!!

Thanks Honorsmum, must confess - more than a little achy tonight, will have to be careful..... are you still in the programme?

One tip I found useful to get to 5k was to increase only one of your runs in a week. So I only increase the Monday run and kept the others at 3 miles. It may help! :) good luck

Thanks Manchester - well I did the 5th run but probably shouldn't have....... started ok but fell apart at 3k... guess that's why we have rest days..... will try again next week but only every other day. hopefully the back to back work this week will pay dividends after a rest period.....

5k in under 30 minutes is one of my goals as well, but a long term one (I graduate c25k next week).

I saw an eight-week training plan (at a cost) on runnersworld.com today that will help you if you're interested.

runnersworld.com/training-p....

Good luck!
