I graduated 18 months ago, but until today was too slow to get to 5k in 30 mins.,I had run 5k but it usually took about 35 mins. I have made an effort to get faster which takes a while at the age of 52. I felt good at the start and so went out faster than normal and managed to make it home in 29 mins.
5k in 30 mins!: I graduated 18 months ago, but... - Couch to 5K
5k in 30 mins!

Well done Belushi!
Iโm a similar age and a little slower so your dogged progress is an inspiration!
Thank you. ๐

Well done! This gives me hope ๐ฌ

Fantastic! I haven't hit 5k yet but I am aiming to get a bit faster as my fitness improves. Great to see how you've improved. 5 mins fadter is amazing!

Brilliant! I completed the 30 mins on Monday but felt frustrated that I wasnโt at 5k. Today I ran 5k but it took me 37mins. Can I ask how you went about increasing your speed? I was thinking of going back through the app but with the aim of running faster each time - would love your thoughts! ๐

I am not sure if I am best to take advice from with it taking 18 months for me to do it! By the way I was at 39 mins for my 1st 5k. I concentrated on even pace but found I was coming home faster than going out. Once I was confident that I would always make 5k, I started to wind up the pace for the first 2k and then try to hold on. I got gradually faster, my run keeper app telling me the pace helped me reach my targets

Congratulations on on running your first sub 30 minute 5k, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement ๐๐พ ๐
