Parkrun today... Oh I just so love it now. After a hard week and an amazingly hardcore day yesterday I so needed it.
Anyway... My best friend Nicola arrived at my house nice and early and off we went... My best boy Leon was way in front and Nicola and I stayed at the back. We went full throttle ( for us) and pumped it up all the way to the top ( it's a steep climb).
You know I felt so good having found the answer to being happy the day before ( one of those life changing things). And we were going for it.
Halfway down we were chatting about stuff ( men and ...well you know what...xxxx). And we slowed right down, people were overtaking etc...
We finished after loads overtook us... But you know what. It wasn't about the PB, it wasn't about the technique, or the beating people.
That was about getting out there, feeling great, chatting about things with a best mate , feeling the breeze and f*** it, enjoying life and making sense of our crazy lives ( free therapy!)
Yes.. That's what running will be for me from now on... Thanks Nicola, and yes that was the best babes thank you xx

Certainly sounds like a pretty good park run you had today, and yes, running is all about pushing yourself to find something new, achieve something you didn't think you could and enjoying new highs & panthering your way through the whole run...... Certainly sounds like you are on your high at the moment.
Its so good when you just run for pleasure rather than trying to do a certain time..... I hope you and Nicola enjoyed yourself, sounds like fun,

Oh, and what is the answer to being happy, something I have been asking of myself for quite sometime too.
I think this might help answer your question. It's a very serious website set up by a bunch of academics who have dedicated quite some time in looking for that answer! Hope you enjoy it:
Thank you that is wonderful and so true. Also I was talking to my butcher yesterday who is a manic depressive. He has been given updates of my progress as he cuts up my steaks, and he's just started doing this thing called insanity.... He says he feels so much better and he looks amazing...I'm still trying to get him running!!
I know, I so love running for pleasure with Nicola. Yes we think we have established the art of panthering in our running ( love Wikipedia for new ideas).
Errr.. Sort of, more about appraising situations and thinking about what works...
And too right, get out there, do a parkrun with a best friend and talk about all the 'stuff'... It gets alot sorted!! They are the best... Or come and join us in Bristol ( we will be the ones sporting neon sweatbands and talking about things you might not want your kids to hear)!!!
