Not updated for some time but thought I would finally update that I had done it!

I ran my 5k last weekend, so pleased that I did it, more than a few hiccups along the way and I was exhausted when I finished but I did it!!

Still seem to struggle quite a bit with my breathing, struggling to catch my breath etc. does anyone have any tips tht might help? :-)

I had this problem with trying to ingest enough oxygen so as not to collapse and all I can tell you, the fitter you get the easier it gets to breathe. Runners are supposed to breathe in using their stomach muscles and not their chest muscles. This way, you get the maximum amount of air into your screaming lungs. So try and do that and mentally you may notice a change in your breathing. BUT this heatwave hasn't helped!!

Thank you! I'll have to try that, but yes the heatwave has made it a lot harder :-)

Congratulations!!

My legs hurt, I huff and puff and I have a constant beetroot face for a good hour after I've finished but I wouldn't swap it for the world!

I tend not to post much myself, but I read lots of others for advice and inspiration. Actually, danzargo's posts are one of my favourites!

Hope you iron out your breathing problems, I'm sure you will as you get better at running :)
