Oh, jolly good show! I'm thinking that I really need to try and do an early run soon. Seeing you're doing one might just be the push I need. Though it won't be at 5.30.
Great Greenlegs ill give you all the lowdown tomorrow and good luck with your early start I'm sure it'll be worth it
5:30 ...... Nice and early then, should be lovely and cool. Although I've never run at that time though. This heat is a killer, I was literally dripping wet by lunchtime yesterday, so its easy to dehydrate if your not careful, so plenty of water & early night and am sure you will nail it.
Thank you MatthewW.. I'm going to make sure I take plenty of fluids and I agree yesterday was particularly hot wasn't it... Wow this really is a heat wave !
Rather you than me .... 5.30 day starts are things of the past best forgotten now I'm retired - though I do love a glorious sunrise and would do it for the start of a holiday. I've done some 7 and 7.30 runs and they are still cool - usually! ... but today, a little bit later .... a no-can-do! Hang in there folks, this is the summer we all longed for during those freezing, wet, foggy days of February!
Good luck JuicyJu ... The crack of dawn is for working youngsters, you'll forgive an oldie if I stick with cooler, later mornings teehee. Take care and take lots of water, happy running, Linda x
I loved it...I was out there by 5.30 after hubby pushed me out of bed. I could feel the heat rising as I ran. Hardly anyone about but saw two runners: One combat wierdo ( no eye contact) and one 'normal runner' he gave me a smile! Well done you on getting out there.
I have changed when I run. I always ran in the evening as I had more time.....but because of the beautiful hot weather at the mo I've changed to mornings. I get up at 6am if it's a 5km and 5.30 for the longer run. It is an ungodly hour, but it worth it. Didn't think I would enjoy morning but it isn't so bad. Not sure I will be saying that in the winter lol. Hope it went well for you....
