have completed all nine weeks now and boy, have i felt this heat!! shouldn't complain but one extreme to another and trying to run in it is a nightmare. i did manage one run outside (for the first time) but felt it lonely. back to the treadmill till i can run with a friend i think. am only up to 4.4 k (including the warm up and cool down runs) so will need to speed up a bit to complete the 5k. however, i am confident that it will come, in time!
thats one thing i do like about the treadmill, it tells you how fast you're going, so i can either slow down or speed up accordingly.
anyway, have emailed support for my graduation badge and am preparing to do my first "stepping stones" run. any tips anyone?
will email after to let you all know how i got on (or didn't get on...)

Congratulations on graduating, especially in this heat - I graduated on Saturday and it nearly killed me!
If you're already running 4.4K then I'm sure you'll find the Stepping Stones fine - I did mine yesterday and found it wasn't too different from the 30 minute runs in Week 9, but it's nice to have a pace to run to and with some different music it was a nice change to the Couch to 5K. And of course Laura is with you all the way through I'm not sure if I'm going to do the Stepping Stones three times before moving onto the next or if to do each one every week for the next three weeks instead. I do love this sunshine but am really struggling with running in it. Good luck with your post graduation running.
thanks for the responses. have been and completed the stepping stones podcast once, which nearly finished me off in this heat... on a treadmill with door open, still tooooo hot at 9.30pm!!!
then i ventured outside for a 30min run aroun the estate with my daughter biking alingside me, without podcast. well, it wasnt too bad, managed 15 mins running then the old heart started complaining and i got totally out of breath, struggled to get my breath. was disappointed but pleased i had done something.
been to buy a pair of running shoes yesterday, which i will be trying out tonite. cost me 69 pounds but know it will be money well spent...
