I am doing RfL on 14th Sunday (July) and wonder what is best for breakfast and previous day (Saturday) dinner. Someone suggested Pasta but I do not eat Pasta, Is plain rice ok with a curry for dinner? (my favourite!) Or Chicken roast with some bread?? Shall I have Porridge with Honey in the morning with a banana as well maybe 1 hour before the Race? I am quite excited in doing this as this is my first ever ace, who would have thought that I would do a Race heh?!! The whole thing about C25K started thanks to the RfL! Please help, any suggestion is very much appreciated, many thanks!!

You know I try to eat very very little at least 3 to 4 hours before a run... Carbs night before is great. I'd have a banana and water for Brek?? I'm sure others will have better advice. Good luck!!!

Thank you very much Juicyju, I am not sure whether I can eat 3-4 hours before the Race as the Race starts at 10am and we are supposed to go there a bit early. I got to leave home at 8.45am the latest. 3-4 hours before could be very early morning and I simply can't eat that early and in fact I can't wake up that early! The decision is to have Porridge with Honey an hour before leaving home. Hopefully it will work!

definitely something with good carbs as during saturday - rice is okay, but your main worry will be the heat.

I was reading than running in this heat really can affect you and drain you much more than you realise - so I would say drink plenty of water, then drink some more water, then with your chicken curry and rice - some more water, water before bed, and water with breakfast..... think you get the message, you really do need to keep up with the water.

Many thanks MatthewW, I did run twice in the heat, 5K each, just to train for the race. I am a bit worried about drinking too much water as I may have to go to the loo and it could be somewhere far away than where the race starts! I will still drink as much as I can before the race and maybe before I leave home. Early night and early morning I suppose..

Hi, you're doing the Oxford one on Sunday yeah? Me too! *waves*. Enjoy it, it will be great fun. Oh and I'll probably have boiled egg on toast for breakfast. For dinner Saturday night, something low in fat, high in protein and carbs.

Thank you for the comments Rollertoaster. I read somewhere not to have boiled egg and toast but something light. Are you going to run or jog or walk?? It is going to be very hot in Oxford, but hey it is part of the challenge I suppose. Good luck to you for the Race!
