Phew got up at 5.30 am- and went running. half way back is a big hill and I was thinking I just can't do it. The dog powered past me then, tail wagging encouragement, slowed about a meter in front of my slow pace like a motorbike out rider. made me laugh and I kept going!

Week 7 run 1 Hurrah- thank the dog
Lovely! My dog has made all the difference and it is much nicer when she can go off lead. If I am honest, the faint hope that it might help my fitness was part of the reason I got a dog after many child-rearing years without. Made it easier to prioritise getting out. Her face the day I started C25K was a picture.
Well done on the hills. I live in a very hilly area but have become very skilled at finding all the flat places.
I started looking for the flat places but onweek 5 I decided to go on my usual walk route because the dogs can be off lead and the 2 hills are OK now so long as I take it slowly. This has meant when I go away to stay with friends I feel I can run anywhere NOT put off by a hill.
I love running with my dogs ( two black labs) they are thrilled with my new hobby and definitely help keep me motivated.
