First indoor run - I wanted to run in a Gothenburg forest :-(

Hi all!

I am in Gothenburg this week and had planned to run in a local forest today. I need to take a tram to get to the forest and the weather was not good after work so I had to abandon the plan. The annoying thing is that the weather was only bad from 5pm to 7pm it was very nice before and is reasonable now. So I used the gym instead. It's the first time I've used a treadmill since I've started running and I much prefer running outside. It is more interesting and it is much cooler, I don't think I've ever sweated so much! Anyway I still did 5km in 27'25" so a reasonable time. The forecast is better tomorrow so I will try and go for my forest run again!

Here is a link to my run:

I was slightly put off the nearest forest in Gothenburg because we could hear elk and apparently they can be dangerous. So be careful! I do hope you get out there, though - that would be marvellous, and so much better than a hotel treadmill. A great time for your 5k, by the way :)

Thanks for the advice, I will bear that in mind. I have heard that a lot of runners use the forest so hopefully it can't be that dangerous!

They were probably winding me up because they wanted to drag me off to the bar instead :D

I'm so jealous! I love Gothenburg, and the idea of running through the forests sounds idyllic to me! Hope the weather holds up for you, and you get to enjoy the beauty of Swedish nature (well, the smaller-than-elk bits, anyway! ;) )

I would go for it regardless if its raining or not, once your wet your wet. I would think you would have some shelter from the trees too. Sounds wonderful.

Thanks Oldgirl, you are very polite, I assume you wanted to say "Man-up"! :-)
