Just back from running in my first ever organised run - 10k Race for Life in the beautiful surroundings of Clumber Park in Notts. Weather conditions were perfect - cloudy with a slight breeze and the occasional light shower just to cool us down. Bit muddy underfoot in places, but I knew I was going to finish on a good time when I hit a PB at 5K (31 mins 16 secs) and felt like I had plenty left in the tank. Upped the pace for the last half of the race and finished on 57 mins and 3 secs.
My Garmin tells me the distance was actually well short of 10K, (9.2K) but at that pace, I'd still have knocked 5 mins off my previous 10K PB - happy days
