Got back from work myasics plan called for 4.5mile fast run. It was raining it was dark, cold and very windy and I really didn't want to go. My 1st 10k race is in just over 2 weeks so I got changed told my wife I'd be back in 45 minutes and set off. My garmin was set to warn if I dropped below my target pace of 10 mins a mile and I only heard it when waiting for traffic lights to change.

First 1k was over 5 mins, first mile was 8 mins 30, next 1k took me to 11 mins. Long story short I was going too quickly. My route was downhill to start so I thought I would slow up on the uphills. I did but not that much. 5k pinged at 27 mins 17 secs!!!!!!! A new PB. I carried on and finished the run getting slower for the final mile but still did 4.5 miles at an average pace of 9 mins and 3 secs per mile

I graduated back in June last year and have been running ever since. Myasics plan wants me to adjust my training pace to be faster but I'm not so sure.

So my recommendation to all is even when you don't feel like a run -do it do it do it! A new PB could be waiting for you.

Happy running all!

Thanks curlygurl, Didn't sleep well last night as the wind was howling (as was the fox cub - maybe more shrieking!)

Thanks for the encouragement. I needed it this morning and between your lovely post (well done on the PB by the way - absolutely fantastic!) and encouragement from my DH I succumbed and braved the perils of the wind. And won :)
