I suspect you'll actually find it okay physically, read the other blogs from week 5. The challenge is the mental side. Try to keep your mind occupied on anything other than the running. I took my sister with me to run alongside and chat all the way round. The first half was harder and the second half the time just flew by.

The hardest part was the shorter interval runs in week 6, so be warned! Once you've managed the 20 mins of week 5 run 3, take it easy with week 6 and don't get carried away.

Keep positive for run 3 this week, relax and just keeping putting one foot in front of the other and you'll be fine.

Thanks stubbyp! Good advice! I've a job interview next week, so maybe ill do some prep in my head for that!

first up - you have got to have a massive well done for making it through this far - that has taken some real effort so far - and you have kept yourself going too.

but honestly - you might not quite be ready to believe it - but physically you are ready for the next one.

It looks daunting when you think it's 20 mins, although in wk4 when you rans for 16 mins in total - you did that okay didnt you? so this next one is 20 mins.

It really is a case of just keeping going - if you're tired slow down a bit - if you're out of breath then slow down some more - but you will get through it & when you do you will have a massive rush of YEAH - I DID THAT.

Good luck - keep going & Happy Running

I think the best advice i ever had on here was someone who said it is a case of getting used to going along at your pace and not getting freaked out by being out of breath and tired etc. Just go with it. You are not dying you can keep going and it is just a new feeling that you have to learn to recognise! Good luck!

I know exactly how you feel because I have just done W5R2 and I'm really apprehensive about the next one too. An old knee injury has flared up so I'm giving myself an extra day before doing it and have just ordered a knee support to try before R3. Everyone on here says that it really is a mental hurdle, not a physical one and that you are more than ready for the 20 minute run. Good luck and let us know how you get on :)

don't worry, its a little push but one your more than capable of doing, its defiantly achievable, I remember being terrified of this run, thinking how would I be able to do it, it seemed such a huge jump up in time, but then you go out and you just do it and your left thinking wow, how did I do that, but you do and its really not an issue. And the feeling afterwards is amazing, I remember it being my fave run in the programme, the feel good factor at the end, is so worth any struggle you feel during the run. Good luck and enjoy the post run high :-)
