Just over a year ago I first attempted the couch to 5k plan, not making it past week 3. Struck by shin splints and bad knees I just couldn't do it. Fast forward a year, being 18lbs lighter I decided to give the plan another go, making it to week 7 this time. I never thought I'd be able to run for 25 minutes, but I had literally never felt better.
But life got in the way; migraines, work, driving lessons, travelling back home for family events etc... my routine and motivation slowly came to a stop. Fast forward another month and I'm sitting on the couch feeling guilty about the pizza I ate last night and the extra can of beer I just drank but didn't really need.
So, as a motivation to start once again, I'm announcing to the world my plan to master the elusive 30 minute run. Wish me luck!

Love the name hadahumphrey, brilliant. You know what they say 'third time lucky' but this programme isn't about luck, its about motivation, determination and perseverance. You've come to the right place to get help with motivation, you have proven that you have dertermination, now the perseverance should be a doddle, you've done best part of it before and you can do it again and that little bit more will see you through to the end. Take it nice and steady, no rushing it, enjoy the programme and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised just how quickly your fitness and ability to run comes back to you.
There was many days last summer (if you could call it that) that I could have given up the running due to the mud, puddles and torrential rain. I needed a push then too but got strange stares from my hubby who would say "Your mad if you're going out in that" to which I replied "Once I'm wet I'm wet" So my reply to you is not a kind caring one, its "Get your but out because it might be pouring with rain tomorrow, so do it now cos you know you want to really"
If I can do it anyone can do it On my 1st 2 attempts I never got further than week 3. Tomorrow I'm heading out in week 9 run 2 and I can manage 4km in the half hr. not as fast as I want to be but stil ok Shame my knees are starting to suffer. I've been told to stop running by my doctor so I'm gonna do these last 2 runs and then find something else to bring my weight down and then hopefully I'll be able to get back on track I'm determined. Good luck. Third time's a charm
