Third time lucky!

Over the last year or so I've tried to do Couch to 5k twice and have always got to week 2 and not gone any further. This time round, spurred by my impending 40th birthday I've managed to get to Week 3 and completed it! I feel on top of the world. This is the first time since my school days that I have run for 3 minutes in a row! Bring on Week 4!

  • Brilliant . I graduated last weekend and am now starting a marathon training programme. A 'friend' entered me as a 59th birthday present, so at 40 you are a spring chicken. Get out & enjoy!!!

  • Well done getting this far!! I complete week 3 tomorrow and am both looking forward and slightly anxious about the coming weeks! I haven't run since school either!. Wish I had started this programme a long time ago. Good luck for week 4!

  • Well done for getting further this time. You should find plenty of support and encouragement on here, and might find it helpful if you post after each week to give yourself some accountability and extra incentive to get out there.

Most of us find running mildly addictive after a while, so here's hoping that you'll just want to keep getting out there.

  • Thank you so much for such supportive replies. I've resisted posting until I'd got past Week 3. My next incentive is to get myself a proper pair of running shoes when I reach week 5. Fingers crossed for Week 4! Good luck to everyone too.

  • Well done on getting further this time round. Good luck with week 4. Best wishes.

  • Well done!

  • well done you, keep going you can do it, mind over matter just start believing in yourself and you will vet there x
