Had a lovely run today with my best friend. He's a handsome boy, lots of flowing, wavey black glossy hair and beautiful brown eyes. Where ever I ran he followed, he kept up with my pace (which wasn't very difficult), he looked at me with love in his eyes........OK, OK this isn't some Mills & Boon romance, I'm talking about my beloved dog Jasper!! He's a Cockerpoo. (No laughing please)! I hadn't taken him out running with me since the early weeks of the programme which wasn't a great success with badly timed pooing and getting tangled up in retractable leads! No lead today and out on the little park just up the road. Thought I'd do the C25K+ Speed podcast today as it's shorter which is great if you're short on time. Well we got through the running intervals and I decided to carry on running through the warm down walk. Looked at the Garmin and noticed that the time and pace was not too bad so decided to carry on until we both got to 5K. It's only a small park and I think we ran all over it in every direction possible. Our time for 5K was 30:16! I was happy and so was Jasper....actually I think he was happy because I kept giving him little pieces of cheese as we ran. Perhaps if someone kept giving me pieces of Cadbury's Dairy Milk as I ran I may get quicker!!
So Jasper went from laying on the couch to 5K in one run. Do you think he deserves his graduate badge? Forgot to mention it's his birthday today too. Happy 5th birthday Jasper. Hope you enjoyed the sirloin steak you had for tea?!!
Happy running from Claire & Jasper. x

Happy birthday Jasper and YES on the graduate badge! And well done I would sooooooooooooo keep running if someone were offering me pieces of Dairy Milk. What an incentive Keep up the good work. Jo.
What a beautiful dog. He has a gorgeous face. Happy birthday Jasper. And good luck Joanne with your future runs.
Sorry, got the name wrong above. Good luck to you nomorejellybelly, also.
Nothing beats running with your best buddy. I run with my German Sherpard/Collie. He loves it. I think he's happier now that I can run a bit quicker because finally I can keep pace with him. It was embarrassing in the early days running at the pace he was walking. It makes me feel safe as well because I run around an industrial estate.
