Although only by less than a minute. It was a lot better than Monday morning. I was SO hot. I had to stop running at about 6 and a half minutes on the second run and started again with a minute to go, so I am nearly there. Still disappointing though, but keep on truckin.

Just in from W5R1. You have my sympathy as I'm apprehensive about run 2. Going any time beyond 5 mins is brilliant in my book so well done from me regardless!
Don't worry about run 2. I did it today and as long as you start slowly and not too fast you'll manage it fine. Keep thinking 'I CAN do this'. That is your mantra for next time. GOOD LUCK!
I don't think you failed - you just got things delayed a bit. Don't focus on the bad runs, but rather on how long you come from. What matters is that you keep going because you've done very well so far!! Trust yourself, trust the programme and in a few weeks only, you'll be able to run 30' without stopping. Good luck!
Aw thanks guys. I love this blog as there is always someone who has been in the same circumstances. I can't wait to try again and this time I WILL succeed. I will keep you posted.
I did week 5 run 1 last night and I cant stop thinking about the next two, really nervouse about the 8 mins and im trying to not even think about 20! 5 mins seems like a lifetime as it is!
Don't feel bad - look back and see how far you have already come! You are already half way through the program. Remember how tough it felt in week one just to run for 60 seconds...
...and the impossible sounding leap up to 90 seconds...
but look at you now! Keep it up, trust the program and always remember, slow and steady!! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Leave the fast running for the last few seconds of the run and work up to it, don't try to push it from the start (and in my case, the fast running was most other people's slow plod!). Listen to Laura. Experience will help you get faster later. You can do it.
Plenty of good advice a over already but to echo ... Mind over matter. I can't believe that I can now run for over twenty mins. 5 weeks ago I came home from the gym crying because I couldn't do the first run! Once I got over that barrier I was convinced that I'd never ever get beyond 5mins; it seemed impossible. Starting each run however with a 'I can do this' and not beating yourself up if you don't quite make it will do you the world of good. Good luck with your next run and keep us posted!
