Hi, we're looking for a new Couch to 5k volunteer to join our attempt to set a new kilt race world record in Perth on Saturday, 10th August, share their training experiences and inspire others to take part too. With almost 9 weeks to go ... the timing is perfect to provide an added incentive for a new runner.
The kilt race is to be held over a flat, off road 5k course - full event details are at perthkiltrun.co.uk. There will also be plenty to keep family and friends amused if they come to cheer you along with a range of fun day activities.
Anyone up for this kilted challenge? If so, please email alayne.barrack@speak.co.uk.

Hi, it is the Perth kilt run that made me start the couch to 5k programme. Did W4R3 tonight and all on track. I just watched the kilt run from the sidelines last year so was determined to be involved this time.
Hi wait-for-me, it's great to hear that the Kilt Run inspired your running and glad to hear that you're on track to join in this year's race and hopefully help us break that world record.
Would you be interested in sharing your race preparations via our website and social media activity to help inspire others to take part? If so, do let me know. If not, do keep in touch anyhow as it would be good to know how you're getting on and maybe get to say 'hello' on race day.
Hi sparklisue, fantastic to learn that you've taken up running to take part in this year's Kilt Run and hopefully be part of a world record breaking event as well.
We are looking to share the training experiences of some new runners to help inspire others to join in - would you be interested sharing your race preparations? If it's a yes, please let me know. In any case, it would be good to know how W3 and beyond goes for you.
I'd like to put together a profile about you and how the first Perth Kilt Run inspired you to get running. Then update this with your training progress in the lead up to this year's event.
Would you be happy if I called you to chat through as that's probably easiest?
