Well, I went back to work today after half term, and I still managed to convince myself to run when I got home.
It was hot today, and busy at work, but breezy (I sound like a weather report!). The breeze meant I was comfortable running before dinner. I had my pre-run banana, changed into running gear, did lots of stretches and off I went.
After the second minute my chest hurt so much I wasn't sure I would make it! I couldn't decide whether my sports bra was too tight (though I didn't feel that bad 2 days ago) or the weather was too warm, or the kids wore me out too much at school and I didn't have it in me today.
Anyway, I managed to huff & puff my way around, sometimes leaving 2 minutes instead of 90 seconds between runs, but completed them all and staggered home, as brightly pink as my running shoes, exhausted but pleased with myself that I did it. And I only swallowed one small insect - no mean feat considering how many I saw today!

hi arablue, well done! Sounds like you did a good job. Sometimes they are not easy and it's just one of those things, but you persevered and got through it.
Also congrats on only eating one insect! I come back from runs and cycles feeling like I've had a 3 course meal!
Apparently the protein is good for you. I try to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth, especially in midgey areas, but on a rough one I'm usually gasping instead! Maybe I should have said only one that I noticed.
Congrats on doing W1R2, especially the first week back at work after a holiday- I'm normally completely knackered for the whole week! I've got the same run coming up tomorrow and just knowing that others have done it before me is so motivational. And all the best runners have bright pink running shoes I believe (well, me and you anyway )
Good luck with the next one and look forward to seeing you around here over the next 9 weeks!
I confess I am knackered, but I reached the point of no more excuses.
Excellent choice on the pink shoes by the way. This place really is great for support and encouragement. Knowing others are in a similar position is so reassuring. Let us know how you get on.
