Week 9 underway - who'd have thought it ? To be sung to a twelve bar blues...

Woke up this morning,

Went out in the rain,

Daughter was with me,

We just gotta train.

Legs keep on pounding,

Heart beating fast,

Who'd've thought that my mojo,

Was going to last?

Way back in March now,

I slumped on the couch,

Glumly surveying,

That muffin top pouch.

But now I'm a runner,

And Laura don't lie,

Graduation is beckoning,

I'll give it a try.

Nine weeks of achievement,

Of commitment and sweat,

From one minute to thirty,

5K's now no threat.

So miracles happen,

They can happen to you,

Trust Laura as your friend,

Your dream will come true.

I may not be a poet, but I can run! As I have said, the C25K mantra - 'If I can do it, anyone can' - applies 100%. I never, never, never would have thought it possible that in about nine weeks I could do this. And it is catching - my colleagues at work are now doing it too and raving about lovely Laura and what a wonderful programme it is. To anyone wondering whether to give it a try I say ' The hardest part is getting off the couch'. The support and help you will get from the community will get you past the difficult days. IICDIAC!

You are so right mmphc. I think we have all amazed ourselves. Well done to you and everyone on here who has dragged themselves off the couch. :D

Love the 12 bar blues by the way....

Many thanks, Christian1 - only two more runs to go and I will then be applying for that so long coveted green badge. As you say, we have all amazed ourselves and I echo your congratulations to all who have got up off the couch.

Many thanks, Greenlegs. Not sure I'm up to singing during the run, but I can keep the tune in my head!

I did W9R1 today too so I'll be keeping an eye out for you at the end of the week. Enjoy your last two runs!
