This is probably a silly question but here goes....having been for my run this morning, I have got very soggy feet! I run round the farmer's field along the grassy edges and of course the grass is wet....do I need waterproof trail shoes....does such a thing exist...Meanwhile.I have out my trainers in the sunshine....
Wet trainers: This is probably a silly question... - Couch to 5K
Wet trainers
Try woollen socks, they'll keep your feet dry.
You can also buy some waterproofing spray at the shoe shop. Helps to some extent, if you give them a good thick layer once they have fried off again
I have some barefoot running shoes which are quite waterproof but beware they get very smelly and make your feet smell too. I prefer my ASICS which dry out quite quickly if stuffed with newspapers, then popped into the airing cupboard. After running in them for over 200K's now they still are in good condition and no nasty smells either.
I have a pair of trail running trainers from Karrimor. They have mesh panels in the top & sides. So water comes in and then it goes out again. They get wet, then they get dry. All helps with the "running through puddy muddles" ethos.
I loved your description Ned "So water comes in and then it goes out again." Running can all be put into simple words really, I don't think of hills in gradients to me they're just "ups & downs"
