Does running tone legs?: - Couch to 5K
Does running tone legs?
Judging by my legs it seems so, although how much of that was helped by the calisthenics I was doing to get fit to run in Vibram FiveFingers (knee, calf and feet strengthening exercises) I'm not sure.
I had hoped it would. But as at Week 9 Run 1, there's no evidence of it yet.
It definitely does. I was observing to Mrs OldNed only this morning that I have much more muscle definition in my legs now. Not bulky, not 'muscly', just more cleanly defined. Takes a good while though.
In my experience yes, I can see the shape of the muscles and they feel firmer.
My thighs are definitely slimmer and I have more muscle tone- also a firmer bottom!
Definitely - I walked to school every day for seven years and in a total distance of about two miles total (one each way) I ended up with really toned legs.
It has really helped my inner thighs, and they need all the help they can get! I guess there are other factors in these things too. I for example have some loose skin on my thighs (5 kids and too much pregnancy weight gain), so although they feel firmer its harder to see.
I'm waiting for my perky toned bottom, think I'll have quite a wait!!
Yes, it has for me. Muscle and a reduction of nasty cellulite. If you look at my last blog titled cellulite experiment, you will see a pic. This was after 50 days running or walking. Gayle
Hi Gayle,
I just took a look at your cellulite experiment blog and WOW!! Nice!! You gave me the proof and inspiration I was looking for. It is one thing for someone to say running tones legs... but to actually see the results...amazing! Thanks so much for sharing, and you have inspired me to keep going.
