Three things running has taught me this week...

Thing 1: you can suddenly have a great run! set out for week 8 run 3, since the longer runs I seemed to have settled into groundhog day, first 5 minutes, look at me!, I'm running, hello sky, etc, 5 to about 12 minutes: this is getting tougher, 12 to about 20: this is agony, why am I doing this, 20+ settles down and get to the end.

So set out for this run and it was 12 minutes before I felt any doubt, gone by 17 and sailed on, lovely. came home on a high

Thing 2: you can suddenly have a horrid, BAD run! week 9 run 1, set off, almost immediately felt sluggish and out of breath, really tough run, did it but I felt awful after, needed to sit straight down and I really questioned the whole thing, thought maybe this isnt for me.

Thing 3: you can come back from a bad run!, and much stronger, week 9 run 2, told myself, dont get carried away, just do the 30 expected (I have been adding a few minutes here and there when I can) off I went, me and my garmin, did the 30, kept going and for the very first time did 5K!, I know I'm amongst friends when I tell you it took me 38 minutes.

So to every one here, thanks for all your support and watch out for those bad runs, but know you really can come back stronger, because as the saying goes, if I can you certainly can, happy running!

Well done Olliebollie and I'll bet if you asked everyone on here have they experienced similar runs we would all say, "Oh hell yeh". I hope you have a really good graduate run. :)

Great reminder not to throw in the towel just because of one or two bad runs, it does in fact get better! Great job getting all the way to almost graduation, I hope to be where you are one day soon. :)
