At the end of last year I made a mad decision to book a place in a 10K race, then I became ill and have only just felt well enough to run again after nearly 6 months. So I shall be donning my rather fetching new top and my green coded race number to attempt what will be my marathon tomorrow morning. I was going to dip out of this run but having read all the inspirational logs I am going for it!!! I cannot quite believe that I shall be running this distance but the Couch to 5K programme has been such an extraordinary journey for me. I am determined to finish tomorrow as it is a goal I have set myself to achieve before I am 60 (this year) If I survive I shall post tomorrow to let you all know how I got on.. now i just have to put those pesky monkeys back in their cage lol

Ooh, tell us how it goes - I have a 10k at the end of this month and have never run in an organised run. So I am a little apprehensive about where to place myself so I can keep out of the way if I have to slow down etc etc.
Hi, in this race we are sent off in waves with the slowest at the back (where I shall be starting from!). The advice I have been given is just to keep out of the way of fast runners who can complete the course in 30mins or even sooner. Runners like me take about 1 hour. I have run in a Race for Life before and after a short while the runners spread out which made it a lot easier for me. hope this helps
