So what shall I do to keep going? Signed up for a Park run on Saturday, thinking about a 10K in the future.... Still cannot believe I have done it, never thought I would. Last run was 5k in just under 30 mins - is that good for a 45+ year old? Will be up at 5.15 tomorrow morning to see what I can do - wish me luck! Please!

I would just go out and do a nice 5k run, don't try to push on to any great heights too quickly. Look on your first post grad run as a lap of honour!! (Many congratulations by the way, as a fellow graduee I know how you are feeling)

I have just signed up to do a 10k run in April next year, so my focus will be training for that. But I don't want to push too hard too fast, so the timeframe is just right for me. But if I were you, I would definitely go and do a parkrun. They are great fun, non competitive, and generally a great atmosphere. The marshalls are all very encouraging, cheering you round the course. It's definitely a positive experience.

5k in under 30 minutes is great by anyone's standards. For a new graduee, you should be very proud of that. With a little bit of concentration and effort, you will shave minutes off that in the coming months. Well done!!

Hey thanks, yes I feel very proud that I have completed the whole programme, what a surprise! Will keep it easy tomorrow as I just need to complete it in what is now very cold weather - at 5.15 am anyway. Do anyone know of any 10 k runs in the London area in the new year?

Congrats!! Runners World website usually has a schedule of 5k, 10k, half and full marathons if you're looking at setting yourself a new goal.

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging comments! Did 5K in 28 mins 57 s this morning , fastest time yet but coming down with a cold so may not be out till Sunday again. This will be the first time since July that I have not run every other day - worried it will put me back!
